Biography
Franco Ferrari was born in a small town in Italy and became an American by choice and by the grace of God. He received his associate's degree in Business Administration in 1967 and also served 2 years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. Mr. Ferrari was elected President of the cement contractor association at the age of 24 where he became an expert in the art of negotiating contracts. He was a licensed general contractor in Michigan and became a licensed home builder in Florida in 1973. After that venture in 1975 he started a chain of restaurants with family members and grew it to 15 locations before embarking in a business brokerage career in 1985. One of his best decisions was to become the first Sunbelt Business Broker Franchisee in Florida in 1993. Franco was president of the Florida Business Brokers Association Central Florida chapter for two years and served on the state Board of Directors for ten years. He currently holds the position of Vice Chairman. He received the CFBI (Certified Florida Business Intermediary) Designation and was also the FBBA training and orientation director for eight years. Franco presented the honorary lifetime member award from FBBA as well. In 1997, Mr. Ferrari joined the Institute of Certified Business Counselors and by March 2, 1998 was awarded the Professional Designation of Certified Business Counselor - CBC. Mr. Ferrari also joined IBBA in 1998 and earned the CBI designation in 2004. Franco is a member of SCORE and in addition to counseling, does a monthly seminar on how to start your own business. He serves on the advisory boards of both Bank First Community Bank and the Disney-SBA National Entrepreneur Center in Orlando, FL. Franco is also chairman of the program committee at the NEC where he continuously promotes small business through programs such as: "How to Sell a Business", "How to Buy a Business", and "Exit Strategy & Retirement Planning". Franco serves as chairman on the President's Advisory Counsel of Sunbelt Business Brokers Franchise. Franco also promotes the growth of Central Florida's business community on his weekly "The Business Advisor" talk - radio show on "How to Buy, Grow, and Sell a Business Right!" You can hear the show at 10:00 AM, Sunday mornings on 540 WFLA - AM Radio.
